Since finding the library sale, I have been spending most of my time reading.  I finished a few books over the weekend, and I will probably be done with my current one by tomorrow.

I’ve realised I approach reading much the same way I approach everything in my life.  I go through periods where I constantly read (or write, or watch films, or play video games), then I drop it for a while.  I am not sure of the underlying reasoning, but it probably has to do with escaping stress, at least in the case of reading recently.

We’re planning on having our cat sent over and the details are beyond stressful.  On top of that we have my father-in-law facing surgery, and both my husband and my desire for our own place to live.  All the stress sort of fades to the background when you can get involved in a book.  It’s probably the lowest form of bibliophilia, but at least I am not reading bodice rippers or chick-lit.  Or, I should say that I am not just reading chick-lit.

Blah blah, back to my comprehensive, humorous history of the UK.
